INTRODUCTION

We recently collaborated with our good friends - Eye Web Solutions - to create a new portfolio of images for their client - Unity in the Community.

Eye Web are one of our region’s premium web design agencies whose talents stretch much further than just web - they are a full service agency and help businesses build their offerings from the ground up including branding, graphic design, search/performance strategies and a whole host of other bolt ons.

Eye Web asked us to get involved in a project to build a new web site for community based organisation Unity in the Community. Unity in the Community’s mission is to help the resident’s of the HU6 area to flourish through different initiatives aimed at improving employment prospects, fostering neighbourhood cohesion and directly engaging with those that could be considered the most at need in the postcode area.

The existing website had become old, tired and wasn’t engaging the community as it should so a total overhaul was ordered.
My job was to capture an up to date visual snapshot of all the great work that UITC do and I couldn’t have been happier to get involved.

Some of my best work is done when I’m working with people. i love engaging quickly, establishing rapport instantly and getting right under the skin of an assignment.

The commission was fairly straight forward - with a whole day to explore the different services UITC offer, i moved from site to site and experienced a whole bunch of services being delivered.

From training and computer skills workshops to coffee mornings and chair yoga, literacy classes and finally covering the community business hub - I got to see the real breadth of what goes on through this fantastic organisation.

Although the commission was primarily captured with stills cameras, I did get the opportunity to use my drone to bring some unique angles which really helped show the buildings off in their best light.

I really enjoyed this project - I got to spend a whole day meeting people, chatting and enjoying their company, discovering all about the great work Unity in the Community does and capturing a snapshot of that through my photography.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

As part of our usual quality process, we asked Chris Hampshire, Lead Designer at Eye Web for some feedback on our work and we were delighted to hear the following from him:-

“Just got the photos back from Laura from Unity and wanted to say that we are very pleased with all the photos created - 10 out of 10!.
You were able to grab exactly what we needed from the client - natural, clean photos while showcasing the scale of the operation.
We will deffo be picking you up on future jobs"
