INTRODUCTION

Corksol is a company that specializes in the production and distribution of sustainable and eco-friendly building materials made from cork. Their products include cork insulation, flooring, wall tiles, and acoustic solutions.

Insight Photography were approached by Corksol to assist them in documenting a long project which was planned to start in September 2022 at Church House, Westminster – the home of the Church of England’s headquarters.

The project was thought to be the largest square meterage of cork insulation to be applied ever – certainly in Europe, so it was important for the company to document the whole project from start to finish.

Insight were commissioned to produce photographic content and a film which could be used across all social media channels, websites and be displayed at trade shows/exhibitions.

SUCCESS

Success for this project was all about the planning. With at least 5 visits required to capture the necessary footage – timing was very important to get the sequencing right.

The site was still occupied by the tenants during the refurbishment process which came with its challenges but with a collaborative approach, we were able to work carefully and with a sensitivity to the employees to capture great footage.

Each of the 5 visits were timed to capture a specific part of the installation process which was necessary to show the whole workflow of cork spraying and then we interviewed all the stakeholders on our final visit to get all the soundbites for the final edit.

We produced a ‘teaser trailer’ and a long form version from the assets we captured – this gave our client a great way to build up social media activity around the launch of the case study which was highly anticipated in Corksol’s industry.

FEEDBACK

The case study was very well received by Corksol’s industry partners and in particular, from architectural practices who are amazing referral partners for them. The film was debuted at the Futurebuild Exhibition held at the NEC which showcases the best in current building/property development processes.

Corksol were very pleased with the final case study and we were delighted to receive this feedback from marketing manager, Chris Heaton
